SPE COURSE: PFAS in Products—Litigation Trends

  SPE On Demand Course

PFAS in Products—Litigation Trends

  Summary

Product manufacturers continued to be scrutinized for the use of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in 2024.  As the multi-district federal litigation involving large PFAS chemical makers continues to progress, plaintiff attorneys are also targeting PFAS-containing products in consumer protection class action litigation. Such lawsuits allege misleading product labeling based on the presence and nondisclosure of PFAS. Newly effective state-level restrictions on PFAS presence in products may prompt even more litigation in 2025. This presentation will discuss current trends and future litigation threats for product manufacturers.
